Chikmaglur is the District and Head Quarters of Coffee growing land in Karnataka. This was called Kadur till 1947. Chikmaglur is situated in south western part of Karnataka state. This is one of the popular tourist interest places in Karnataka, many tourist places situated in this district. Most of part of this district largely rainfall and deep forest area. This place is best known for its Coffee plantation and tea estates. Mullayanagiri (1926 mts) is the highest peak in Karnataka is in Chikmaglur district.
