About Baba Budan Giri, Chikmagalur

This is a Mountain in the Range of Baba Budan Giri of Western Ghats in Chikmagalur District. This Mountain is known for its shrine which is the famous place of Pilgrimage for both Hindus and Muslims. It is also called by many names they are ‘Datta peta’ ‘Datta Giri’. This peak stands in the heights of 1895 meter.

The pleasant weather and landscapes in this range attracts visitors in the winter season and these peaks are known as ‘Chandradrona Mountain Range’.

  • Temple of Seethala Mallikarjuna which contains Matha in Seethala, this is the shrine temple for the local people.
  • Gada Theetha was created by the Pandava Prince, this is waterfall with beautiful surroundings.
  • Nellikayi Theertha formed by Manikya Dhara Waterfall, pilgrims who bathe in this falls.
  • Kamana Theertha is the well known waterfalls in Baba Budan.
  • Caves are the main attraction in Baba Budan Giri, there is three large caves contain their icons and tombs, annual Fair is held here in their honor. Scenery around this place makes it tourist spot.

Baba Budan is located 25 km from Chikmagalur town, 250 km away from Bangalore. Mullayangiri situated Just 15 Km away from Chikmagalur and Baba Budan.
