Wildlife in Karnataka

Karnataka covers wide range of forests like western ghats. National parks, Animal Sanctuary and Bird Sanctuary are situated in many Numbers. Nagarahole national park, Bandipur National Park, Bannerughatta national park are the major national park in Karnataka. Ranganathittu, Kokarebelur are the bird sanctuary in Karnataka. There are some of the very rare animal leaving in the forests of Coorg, Chickmagalur, Dakshina kannada, Uttar Kannada (some part of this places includes rain forests). Some of the rare animal species like Sambar, Panther and Gaur are got place in the forests of Karnataka. Most of the National Parks, Animal and Bird Sanctuary are situated in Western Ghats range. Sandalwood is the State tree of Karnataka.

Karnataka attracting Foriegn birds also, every year in september to December birds visiting to Karnataka from Other countries like Srilanka, Japan, Africa. Tiger, Bear, Blackbuck are Protecting specially and has a Special Single Sanctuary for Each Animal. Tigers Poplulation droped by the recent years, So they Protecting in the sanctuary.

Karnataka has rich wildlife of fauna and varied flora extended over to Western Ghats. Dandeli Kali Wildlife Sanctuary is the largest wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka stretching across 5729.07 sq km. Nagarahole and Bandipur National Park covers around 1500 sq km.
