Uttara Kannada is the District of Karnataka state and has Coastal line of 144 km. This District has 14 minor ports. Konkani and Kannada are the main Languages of this region. This is called as Land of River, there are 5 important rivers flowing in the district to Arabian Sea, they are Kali Nadi, Gangavali, Aghanashini, Sharavati, Varada. This District covers 80% of Forest of the total geographical area of District. This is the very beautiful District with many waterfalls, beautiful mountain ranges, deep forests, rivers, Beaches, Wild animals. uttara Kannada has 11 Talukas, Namely Ankola, Bhatkal, Haliyal, Honnavar, Joida, Karwar, Kumta, Mundgod, Siddapur, Sirsi, Yellapur.

This is ride of 524 km from Bangalore through Tumkur – Honnavar – Talaguppa to Karwar. Nearest railway station is Shirwad (6 km from Karwar), this is Konkan railway route.
