Talakaveri Tourisim, Coorg

Talakaveri is the Place in Madikeri Taluku of Coorg district, Karnataka. This place is mainly considered as source of Kaveri River. This Place is located in the Brahmagiri Hills which is one of the high altitude places in Coorg about 1267 meters above sea level. Kundige (A tank in the front of the temple) is said to be the origin of Kaveri. The Kaveri originates as a spring feeding this tank (called as Tirtha), Which is celebrating as Kaveri Sankramana. The Tirtha Flowing from this tank once a year which is Kaveri sankramana festival celebrating in all over Coorg District. There is small water tank which is believed Sapta Maharishis had performed a special yagna in the top of this peak. Brahmagiri peak is the best spot to enjoy the good view of mountain ranges around this peak. Also Beemana Kallu also another attraction to tourist this is in the forest which have to walk in the forest. Beemana Kallu not accessible easily by every visitor because you have to walk like trekking, this place is unknown to almost tourists.

Talakaveri is not only Pilgrimage Place; this place has deep forests and Animal Sanctuary. Mountain ranges are attracting tourists with cool weather. Talakaveri Wildlife Sanctuary also situated here. The great Shola habitats can see in these mountain ranges.

Wind Mill in Talakaveri
There is many places attracting Tourist Wind Mill is one of them. Wind Speed is pretty faster in the mountain ranges of talakaveri. Many years ago Wind Mill constructed here and its not started because of government and political issues. But this is the main attraction in Talakaveri. Watching towers around wind mills creates way to see the mountain ranges from the top of the tower. This place is walk able by the top of the brahmagiri peak. It just 1 km from Brahmagiri peak.

How to reach Talakaveri
This Place reachable by road and also accessible by Kerala state. Talakaveri is 42 km from Madikeri, 8 km from Bhagamandala and 300 km from Bangalore.
