Badami is the famous tourist spot and ancient sight in Bijapur District, Badami is situated 500 km form Bangalore and 113 km from Bijapur. This place full of cave temples, forts, gateways, inscriptions and sculpture. This place also known as ‘Vatapi’ and Badavi. Badami was the Capital City of Early Chalukyas and Badmi fort was raised by First Pulakeshi of Chalukyas in 543. Wonderful rock cut shrines of vedic tradition is the main attraction here. 18 armed unique Nataraja is the first rock shrine. There is Fines mosque built by Tipu Sultan. Many figures of stone carvings inside the caves. There are many open pillared mantapas and old temples of Rashtrakuta. The Jatra called Bannada Hunnime celebrating once a year.
