Dakshina Kannada is one of the major Districts in Karnataka. It’s bordered by soaring western ghats on the east and by the blue waters of the Arabian Sea. Yakshana, Kambala, Kori Katta, Boota Kola is the famous costumed dance drama in Dakshina Kannada District.

It is one of the coastal districts in Karnataka. It is bordered by Chikmagalur to the northeast, Hassan District to east, Udupi to north, Coorg to the Southeast and Kasaragod in the Kerala state to the South. There are two climatic regions that is coastal region and Malnad region. The coastal region covers Mangalore and Malnad region covers Belthangady, Puttur, Sullia, Buntwal talukas. This District also called as Tulu Nadu. There are many popular cultural Dances such as Karadi Vesha ( Bear Dance) performed in the Dasara. Yakshagana is the folk art , is drama performance. Kambala ( Baffalo race) is happened in the water filled paddy fields in the winter season. Kori Katta(Cock fight) is the game of rural people.
