Upma Recipes

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Rava
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal
  • 2 teaspoons gram dal
  • 1-2 red chilies
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • Few curry leaves and mustrard seeds
  • Few cashew nuts and raisins
Method:
  1. In a frypan heat the ghee.
  2. When hot. Put mustard seeds, urad dal, gram dal, cashew nuts, raisins, red chilies, curry leaves and onion.
  3. Fry for 2-3 minutes, then add rava, fry till rava turns slightly pinkish.
  4. In another vessel. Heat water.
  5. When water starts boiling, add it to the rava mixture, stir constantly and let upma cook.
  6. After water dries, cover vessel for 2 minutes. Close the gas.
  7. Just before serving, add butter.
